The Three C's

• CIVIC CAMPUS   movie >
15.5 acres on North Main Street located directly east of St. Helena's Episcopal Church, was the former site of the St. Mary's Sanitarium. This hospital originally served ailing Catholic Priests and eventually expanded to offer treatment for tuberculosis patients and local citizens. Located directly behind the sanitarium was a grade school, Holy Angels Academy, which provided an education for local citizens, orphans and the disadvantaged.

• CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT   movie >
The expanded Central Business District extends along Main Street from Oak Park to the South and Frederick Street to the North, embracing the entire limits of Boerne's Historic District. This is the that represent the limestone hearth and soul of the community and which rests the heritage of Boerne rests. The majority of the landmark sites and historic structures of Boerne are located within this district.

• CIBOLO CREEK   movie >
Cibolo Creek, from Main Plaza to the West and flowing downstream the Boerne Dam, is the thread that binds the north and south sections of the community together. This is the source of the life- giving waters that enabled this settlement to develop and flourish in the early years. This corridor has offered its cool spring waters and abundant wildlife and vegetation to sustain roaming herds of buffalo, nomadic pre-historic peoples, Spanish explorers and European settlers.
